Darren Clare


Darren is the CEO at Create.  Before forming the company in 2004, Darren held a number of key positions for blue-chip companies including Head of Sales and Business Development for Swatch UK, BT and Philips Consumer Electronics. Darren has since become an expert commentator on consumer and healthcare related business and marketing.

Always keen to push healthcare businesses in fresh and exciting directions, Darren looks forward to the new opportunities that healthcare marketing will bring.


Ed Hudson

Managing Director

With marketing experience across a wide range of sectors, Ed joined Create Health in 2009 to help establish the agency as a leading healthcare marketing business with a reputation for transformative thinking in a challenging and changing sector.

As well as the day-to-day running of a busy agency, Ed oversees our marketing and business development agenda and leads an ambitious team of professionals that offer a unique blend of strategic, creative and tech expertise.


Phil Blackmore

Creative Director

Phil has been creating campaigns for some of Britain’s biggest and best loved brands for over a decade. With a cluster of awards under his belt he’s never stopped loving what he does. Solving problems creatively, crafting beautiful looking work and harnessing the latest tech is what gives him a real buzz. Over the years he’s gained experience on everything from cars to cat food and charities to big corporates – and now he’s decided to specialise in the healthcare sector.

Phil brings to Create a strong strategic background, oodles of creative ideas and plenty of digital know-how. Day to day he ensures only the best creative work leaves our door.



Jenny Baddeley

Planning Director

Jenny is a brand and communications planner with over 16 years’ experience and broad-ranging skills. She’s passionate about helping our clients to uncover constructive insights and gain a thorough understanding of their audiences and their needs. Then, working with them to create the strategies and plans to overcome their business challenges. She’s deeply curious about what makes companies and their customers tick and will ask a lot of questions.


Sam Fenwick-Smith

Client Services Director

With 15 years of client services experience, Sam has worked with a wide mix of agencies across a range of different accounts and sectors. Sam brings with him a huge amount of experience and has recently joined Create Health to further strengthen its offering to make sure our client relationships are at the heart of everything we do.

Sam has a passion for all things marketing and the buzz it provides and likes nothing better than to make sure that we are creating work that everyone can be proud of and shout about. There is no better feeling!

Out of work it’s all about travelling, food, drink and long walks, not necessarily in that order.


Chris Baines

Technical Director

As Create’s technical lead, Chris is that rare breed of IT professional who is as good with people as he is with technology – making sense of the complex and delivering astoundingly clever solutions. Working across the agency, he supports the Account Managers in transforming ideas into reality, and our designers in making their creative visions come to life.

Chris surrounds himself with new technology, so is the undisputed go-to man on all things techy (his car even reads out his text messages). He achieved first class honours in Multimedia Computing and since joining Create, has honed his multimedia skills to web development, advanced database, user interface solutions and more recently responsive. King of the acronym, Chris’ skills extend into PHP, HTML, CSS, jQuery, MySQL and SEO.

Chris has found at least one interest where a more physical form of connectivity is required, playing 5-a-side football twice a week (in goal). He also claims to have invented the curry pizza but we think he should have just turned the kitchen lights on.


Helen Webber

Account Director

Helen joined us from an award winning client services team (not that she likes to brag). She has spent the last four years honing her knowledge in a busy integrated agency across a wide range of projects, with a strong focus on all things digital. Recently involved in rebranding a global pharmaceutical company and having managed patient recruitment for clinical trials for a number of years, Helen is well-suited to quickly grasping medical & health concepts and providing organised and insightful client services.

Although fascinated with digital projects, having started her career in Future Publishing working on videogame magazine titles, Helen still loves to work on as many beautiful print pieces as possible and believes that a bit of foil blocking or a spot UV goes a long way.


George McCann


Recently graduating with a first class honours degree in Multimedia Computing, George has a passion for web-based technologies, and all things tech related.

During his time at Create, he has channelled his knowledge into web development, focusing on the latest web based technologies surrounding HTML, CSS, PHP and JQuery. Working at Create has given him a multitude of development opportunities, and he enjoys working on challenging projects.

A usual working day for George consists of problem solving and working closely with both the account and digital team to create attractive, and complex websites and online tools.


Ben Hall

Junior Art Director

Ben has spent several years working freelance for agency’s throughout the UK. With a broad range of skills including digital, branding, print, photography and illustration, Ben loves getting stuck in to any creative challenge. After finding his home with Create, Ben is now looking to add his touch to the healthcare sector, aiming to develop award-winning campaigns for our clients into the future.

Ben brings a varied bundle of ideas to Create, coupled with a  genuine love for design and concept development.


Jasmine Matthews

Junior Designer

Before joining Create, Jasmine spent two years at a top integrated marketing communications agency, where she became part of an award-winning creative studio. She began her time in the industry as a design apprentice and has worked her way to becoming a fully-fledged Junior Designer. Jasmine has worked with a variety of brands – including global pharmaceutical companies – making her well suited to her new role in Create Health.


Steve Alford

Senior Creative Artworker

Steve brings the studio many years’ experience as an artworker, and has worked with a variety of high profile clients, such as Sky and Spire Healthcare. Not only does Steve’s great eye for detail bring the highest degree of professionalism to the work we do for our clients, but his knowledge of print means we can translate ‘slugs’ and ‘bleeds’ into plain English for the client.


Judith Parkyn

Marketing Manager

Judith joined the team in 2016 and brings with her both client and agency side experience. Having specialised in B2B marketing since the start of her career, she’s in charge of leveraging Create Health’s in-depth knowledge of the healthcare sector to raise our profile.

A bit of a numbers geek, Judith is a strong believer in measuring results and her track record of agency marketing combined with Create Health’s in-house marketing expertise provides the perfect platform to grow our client base.


Lesley Maddox

Finance Manager

Previously Head of Cashiers at an assurance company and owner of a residential care home for many years, Lesley has been looking after our finances since 2008. She’s also in charge of wages, which makes her one of our most popular team members. When she’s not hiding behind piles of paper on her desk, she’s spending time with her family and dogs.


Mark Mason

Non-executive Chairman

Mark is a serial entrepreneur. His first business was Mason Zimbler, a technology focused digital marketing agency, which was sold to Harte Hanks in 2007. Following that, Mark set up Mubaloo, an enterprise app development company. Employing 60 people, it was the most awarded agency in the UK. He sold the business in January 2016 to IPG Mediabrands and is now the non-exec of four businesses.

Mark is also Governor of the University of the West of England and is on the Prince’s Trust Development Committee. In 2015, he was awarded an honorary doctorate for his contribution to business and technology. In his spare time he flies hot air balloons.
