Philips announces buy of Chinese ultrasound equipment firm Apex
28 July 2010 - Dutch-based Royal Philips Electronics (AMS: PHIA) said on Wednesday it had taken over Chinese ultrasound equipment maker Shanghai Apex Electronics Technology Co, to boost its presence in the fast-growing Chinese healthcare infrastructure segment.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

Apex is a top maker of ultrasound transducers for medical equipment specialists in emerging markets. The company has 130 employees.
