Covidien closes offer for Somanetics, gets 80.2%
28 July 2010 - Irish-based healthcare products supplier Covidien (NYSE: COV) said Tuesday it had closed its tender offer for US Somanetics Corporation (NASDAQ: SMTS) and had secured 80.2% in the cerebral and somatic oximetry specialist.

The offer will not be extended.

Covidien had offered USD25 (EUR19.2) per share in cash, or a total of USD250m for Somanetics.
